I can report a problem with Ubuntu 14.04 (x64, Mate desktop) which is similar as (but not identical to) what was described initially (bug description, or, say, posting #0, and first 20 postings relative to Ubuntu 10.04. Thunderbird version is 31.6.0, and the package is thunderbird 1:31.6.0+build1-
