Me too and it's really annoying cause it always has the focus and covers all
the other windows.
No solution so far?

1. Search "modem".
2. Press ctrl+h
3. Delete the files :) except the files that contain "ppa" in name.
4. install modem manager again

A few days "Modem Magager" works fine, but the error appear again:
