I tried what you suggested: " please go to `pavucontrol` [pulse audio volume control] and in the last Configuration tab, turn off your sound [profile]. Count to 1 (ie. a short delay) then return the profile setting to what it was before (ie. re-enable your sound to your default or favorite profile)

Public bug reported: No sound from internal speakers and internal microphone does not work upon wake from suspend. No available settings can make sound work, but if computer is shut down and restarted then sound works until lid is closed and computer enters suspend. Then upon wake up from suspend
