I was affected by this bug. In mid January I Installed PSensor on my
Laptop . I found very high temp spikes before the fan would increase
speed. The graphing mode of PSensor helped me see this. I installed
thinkfan, and set up the parameters to start the fan at low temps (2900
rpm at 48c and full
My system freezes completely, Ubuntu 12.10, Thinkpad t-60/Intel core 2
cpu t7200/gallium 0.4 on ATI rv515/ 32 bit/kernel 3.5.0.21.27 ... It
takes a hard reset to get it back. Sometimes I have to disconnect power
to reset as holding down the power key will not work.

This will also happen when moving a large volume of files such as from a
digital camera. If you move as many as 4 at once all will proceed
smoothly, but if you select more than four files to import you get the
Nautilus Freeze up.
