Ok, I used the extension manager and have disabled the icons.
I now have no icons and no dock, it says my dock is on, but it is no
longer visible on the desktop

*sigh* Happening to me too. Even using Ubuntu booted from a flash drive.
Happened once before; Updated BIOS, fixed it. Now when I try to update
the BIOS with the current BIOS version (basically a reinstall) it tells
me the build is too old. It's the newest one off the ASUS site.

The screen seems to not be updating correctly, right? I will switch back
an forth between old and current views of various system programs, as
well as applications like Chrome. Switching tabs seem sto cause this
sometimes, and as I type this, my Gmail is popping on and off screen
with every letter

I have not experienced this issue since updating to 13.10, I apologize for not
