This did not work for me with Firefox on Ubuntu 24.04. Worth noting

On Ubuntu 22.04 I was able to work around this issue for Firefox by
punching a hole through the Snap sandbox in order to make the file
accessible both inside and outside of the sandbox. Specifically, I used
the following script:

I just wanted to state that this issue seems to have resolved itself.
I've grabbed the updated packages from apt and these are what I believe

After the recent update, sometimes the mouse cursor is not visible after
returning from the screensaver.

persists. The solution was to go into the System Monitor and kill all
the chromium processes. Chromium is preloaded on OS start (presumably to
facilitate fast loading), so chromium was in an "always-open" state.
