Evince called with any pdf file crashes immediately with a segmentation

the box.
The device is a rebranded Huawei MU736 but reports a different VID/PID
pair (03f0:521d). With a few manual steps the device will work.

Ok, this bug is back again.
Here is what occured.
After unchecking the X11 sync a few weeks ago, I noticed that all of my
window menus were missing.
While poking around in CCSM to remedy this problem I accidentally
clicked on "restore defaults." This caused unity to be disabled somehow.

picked up the issue from Feb. I'm using the nvidia binary driver.

After taking the screenshot, the Save dialog obstructed the corrupt part
of the window, and after the dialog disappeared the window was rendered
correctly again. Anything that causes a re-render (obstruct and re-raise
window, or select text) will restore proper rendering.

Attached is another screenshot from Eclipse. This one happened after
scrolling. The first four lines of the command_new function body are
missing completely (the second line of that block is empty anyway,
however), the fifth line is clipped. Also note the discoloration of the
first two missing line

I ran apport which found nothing. Basically my computer performance has
slowed to a crawl, after running the most recent update for Unbutu 12.04
PP. I did find some firefox exploits (deleted). unfortunately I didn't
save my old kernels to revert back.

Any chances of getting this fixed before the LTS “support” ends?
I notice that quantal is already without this patch. So I wonder, was it
dropped because some other change made it unneccessary, or was it
dropped simply because it broke more than it fixed. If the latter, then
please drop the patch

This bug affects two ThinkPads I am responsible for.
In both cases, the baskets contain a large number of large files, several GB,
but the contents cannot be displayed with nautilus.
