Ubuntu LTS has special policy for some programs (e.g. Firefox) to
upgrade them. I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 and have latest stable Firefox. So

I'm confused. I just got this error while trying to installing linux-
generic-lts-saucy on my 12.04.3 machine. The build for both nvidia-304
and nvidia-319 failed:

from LO's website on Ubuntu 11.10, the issue still remained.

1.6.0_23 JRE in Options -> LO -> Java, this crash happened.

I figured it out:
Submitting a crashreport of "bluetooth-applet" (#838418) triggered a crash of
Unity (#838378 / #817352), submission of that crash triggered a crash of
Compiz (#838407), submission of that crash triggered a crash of
"oosplash.bin" (#835153), submission of that crash triggered a cr
...and it's consistent, as it just happened again - Software Sources
closed unexpectedly after submitting this bug (once again).

I just got this crash as well, together with a whole bunch of other
crashes:
Happened shortly after starting up Thunderbird, right after a fresh boot
of the system. This crash occured together with a crash of "bluetooth-
applet", "Software Sources", Unitiy and two instances of Compiz. I'll
see if
