Just as a note: Procedure to reproduce:
Locate the line
#disable-user-service-publishing=no
in /etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf and change it to
disable-user-service-publishing=yes
restart the avahi-daemon service (It might read the config file upon
change, but I didn't check)

Can this fix please be made available in Precise? Precise as of today
