I use workaround below for this issue. I installed network-manager-
gnome, started nm-applet and hidden the plasma-nm icon in the system
tray settings. It seems than nm-applet doesn't have the bug with editing
of WIFI connection settings.

systray and battery widget in kde
Public bug reported:
Battery widget moves to the desktop and shows up at the upper left
corner, when invidia-331 or nvidia-331-updates are installed. I use
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on Dell Inspiron 7737 notebook. Last updates installed
for 14th of Jul 2014.
