the animation uses the contents and position of the currently focused
window, which is not always the same as the window being snapped. Steps
to reproduce:

The bug is still present in 13.10. Nautilus developers are not replying,

I can't reproduce this on HD 4000, in fact it only happens on GMA X4500.
And so I am fairly sure that bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55500
is responsible, i.e. a hardware bug triggered by SNA. I.e. I am closing
this report as invalid.
