After all the proposed packages work fine here.
I've installed them on 2 laptops and a desktop (all suffering from this issue )
and been using them for a week. I started up these hosts several times a day
and for the sake of testing I also rebooted them a couple of times every day
and each time
This is caused by Google adding support for the vCard
field, which telepathy-gabble doesn't think is supported or exists.

I reinstalled the proposed plymouth/lightdm packages, confirmed that I have the
unmodified files from both packages.
I rebooted my desktop 30 times in a row, not a single failure. If I happen to

I get this with fglrx and intel driver as well. It seems that there's
some race condition in the upstart scripts and the graphic card is not
ready yet.
My desktop machine became virtually unbootable with a fast SSD so 10s
(actually 5s is enough) delay was the only way to make it work. I can

In the /etc/init/lightdm.conf file adding some delay before executing
lightdm solves the problem for me:

This way I can also see the Ubuntu boot screen with the progress bar
which I never saw before. It was just the plain background color

I see this with Intel Sandy Bridge as well (i7). Either the low graphics
warning or just blank screen. Manually starting lightdm always helps.

I have an nvidia card and the one-liner patch worked fine. I applied it later
to the unity version in proposed (4.24) as well. Thank you for that!
I used the nvidia-settings tool, set up twinview and selected my screen on the
right hand side to be primary. I saved it the xorg.conf, restarted and
I updated Nautilus from proposed and the restarted my laptop. The
situation has improved but there are remaining issues.
I am experiencing similar ones to Zach, that is:
- The search box still remains (for 5 seconds) after hitting enter and entering
the directory searched for. Better than before
The proposed version fixes the issues I had.
I can delete folders from the treeview and middle clicking on an empty spcae
does not crash Nautilus anymore. I do not get any crash when ejecting devices
either. I don't use the previewer and I don't know how to reproduce the
symbolic icon theme cras

D-Bus Service, Jamendo and Python Console can be enabled on my laptop
and they remain enabled after restarting Totem. I checked the python
console and it works (did not know how to check the other two plugins
but there's nor warning or error on the console).
