Hi HP OMEN 17 cb (2019) with the same issue.
Thanks to #63 and #65 I got somewhat working the audio but not the internal
mics yet.
What happens here is that the Mic is a digital array. Is not the simple
analog mic that always we use.
Intel SST mic array with the realtek alc285.

Update, I move to KDE-Plasma + SSDM, no hangs or any other issue. Is
very sad that I couldn't solve the problem :(

Extensions deactivated, still Froze 3 times, but everytime I use the
"kill -ABRT " doesn't creat a crash file. There are
crash files for some programs like Nautilus and Terminator. But not for
the gnome-shell
Also I tried with sudo once but nothing.
