I am seeing this issue on a new install of Ubuntu 14.10 64-bit with NVIDIA driver 331.89. I get about 50% CPU on 8 cores just just editing a new (unsaved) text document. If I give focus to another window the CPU drops and the mouse correctly shows, and I can then go back to gedit and things are f
