Btw there was already a fixed bug in launchpad some months ago about this
particular bug,
it was present especially on machine with Intel gma500.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the # of the bug report.
I believe that some patches to fix this bug
confirmed because reinstalled raring from scratch and issue still
present.. also a regression from previous ubuntu releases

this bug was solved in Ubuntu but it still present in Kubuntu 12.04.
I had to apply my first workaround (present in original post) to get

I made a video to explain the issue better, it is a bit slow becuase it is in a
virtualmachine, from 0:36 to the end is relevant.

the same issue is present in bluetooth indicator.
it seems are related to ubuntu patches in order to switch from
notification-area to indicator-applet
