I just upgraded my system to Ubuntu 24.04, which apparently included
upgrading Thunderbird to the new Snap package. After restarting the
system, I noticed two things:
1) thunderbird wouldn't start
2) The complete system was really slow.

i went to the backupserver where our remote backups are located
ls -latr *.sigtar.gz
(pick the last one and gave it a "_" as prefix)
after that i could do a purge again.

IMHO: A backup software that has a "problem when restoring" is
completely worthless, not "another issue".
If you are doing an encrypted backup and somebody gets access to your
passphrase, the safe thing to do is create a completely new backup with
a new passphrase, and wipe (and destroy) all exist

I just hit this bug too and can confirm it for 17.10 and 18.04.
However, there is an easy workaround: Make sure Neo2 is the only layout
in your XKB keymap. The easiest way would be to have just one layout.
Another solution for me is to have exactly 4 layouts and Neo2 is the

locking down the packages resulted in breaking gdm3 in my installation of
ubuntu-gnome 16.04.4.
That's because gdm3 has a inherited dependency on libnm0 (>=
1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.2)
This has been happening to me for years, and I always forget about it.

Half a year ago I upgraded our NAS with a different server and
subsequently changed all our Linux desktops to back up to the new
destination. Except one which I forgot. Since deja-dup never complained
on this machine, the respective user also didn't complain and simply
