Good news: Updating the firmware of CS-15 from R2.10 to *current* R2.17
helped. Now in Lucid Lynx the CS-15 is working out of the box, i.e. the
mode is switched automatically to 0x0612. If the connection turns

months ago.
As a workaround I bought a compatible WLAN station, to where the CS-15
is now attached. Those wireless access point devices cost about 30 €.

I found out that lightdm-gtk-greeter works, after I had a second look
into lightdm.conf. (comment #2)
