It appears wvdial is still included on the Ubuntu CD, so you can apt-get and install it without internet connection (a HUGE plus). So just "sudo wvdialconf", and then "sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf", and then "sudo wvdial" to connect. Meanwhile I find it nearly unbelievable upstream has ignored th
