Same here, on an up-to-date 14.04.
The bug report can't be sent, and using apport-retrace from a terminal I get:
> apport-retrace --gdb /var/crash/_usr_sbin_unity-greeter.1002.crash
ERROR: report file does not contain one of the required fields: CoreDump

it's
still present in 13.04, come on guys, at least fix the 4th bug ...

You can use this function for any window, you only passes the X id.
And removing an option just because it doesn't work for a few users is not
a good idea, especially since we now know that it can easily be worked
around. There's nothing wrong with the code as far as we can tell, it works

Thanks for the confirmation.
There is no side effect, icons of minimized windows will be drawn
transparent instead of showing a thumbnail of the window.

Solving a bug with another bug is not an option.
This function works properly with most drivers, and can be disabled (which
is an acceptable workaround, we'll write it on our wiki).
(and this function is used in GTK, chromium, Qt, etc, so there is likely to
be no major problem with it, excepted wit
Dmitry, could you please confirm that, under the 12.04, if you disable the
windows thumbnail option of the dock (in advanced configuration ->
'Taskbar' section -> how to display minimized windows), the visual bug is
not present (you might have to close the windows, possibly close the
session) ?

great news !
Thank you for your help, and thanks to the Intel drivers devs too, glad to
see the drivers keep improving :-)

Of course, I can't do it myself but I hope someone will do the test :-)

Now when we tell other people that bugs in open-source projects are
fixed rapidly, they can laugh ...
Seriously, Alacarte needs to have its own item editor, it's non-sense to
install a deprecated package to get the job done.
Just copy-paste the damn piece of code from gnome-panel into alacarte.
Anyway I'm afraid we can't do anything about it.
If it occurs only with Compiz, maybe it's a problem with it, but I'm more
inclined to think it's a driver problem.
