Immediately after upgrading from 22.10 to 23.04 I am experiencing hourly
crashes from Thunderbird and Firefox. About a third of the time the
application crashes, 2/3 I am crashing out of the desktop session and
must login again.
Thunderbird has crashed about a dozen times on
THis problem made working very troublesome and I therefore upgraded to
21.04 containing LibreOffice 7.1.2.1.. The problem has not resurfaced
for a week in the development version and I consider it solved for me.

Same issue with snap 7.0.4.2 unfortunately.
Strangely, as mentioned above: changing fractional scaling from 150% to
100% fixes the issue temporarily, even when changing back to 150%.

The auto-filter pull-down menu becomes inaccessible the very moment I move the

Adding to my comment above I have found another issue: The pull-down
menu from Auto-Filter is not accessible to the mouse, as it vanishes
instantly. The problem disappears after having switched to multiples of
100%.

Wonderful: "sudo apt full-upgrade" pulled in the nvidia updates and

Tested again a few times: I confirm that switching to nouveau removes
the mouse trail but slows down the desktop to unworkable.
To clarify #6: It could be that in my first test I did not reboot, although
this is quite unlikely.
I could re-install the OS if you want me to try to replicate this.
Mouse trail is gone with nouveau, but desktop is very very slow in all
three modes XOrg, Gnome Classic, and Ubuntu. I had to switch back to 440
to be able to work.
Switching drivers was only possible via CLI.
The mouse trail is only apparent on the background, not inside
application windows.

After purging LO 6.2 and installing LO 6.3.0.0.alpha1 both docs load
I attach an example of a document that takes 20 secs to load, followed
by a cp/paste into a new document that loads very quickly.
