If you repeatedly drag and drop from Nautilus to Chrome (for example), it works

I don't think openprinting is the right error here. The problem is in
the backend (the USB backend) when it's not possible to communicate with

I had the same issue. Turned out to be that the kernel that was actually
running was not the same as the one that was being installed and,
supposedly, the nvidia driver was compiling against.
Do a 'uname -a' and check to see if you are running what you think you
are running (in my case 3.11.0 vs 3
Some people are reporting the "blank" (background) screen before the login,
some after. Are they the same bug?
(I suffer from the after-login variety)
