When I open settings (gnome-control-center) and click on a certain menu, it
creates about 8 transparent windows with the title 'OpenGL Randerer'.

Want to mention that the language-selector-common package installs the
file /etc/profile.d/cedilla-portuguese.sh with the purpose to make '+c
result in ç when the region is set to a Portuguese locale. That file
ought to be the reason why LC_CTYPE is "pt_BR.UTF-8" as mentioned in

stored in the clear, or obscured with symmetric encryption using hard
coded parameters in chrome is irrelevant. Both of these scenarios are
entirely unacceptable.

Right. The .guests suffix seems to be a problem here. But I don't know
which suffixes are accepted/ignored now and in the future, so I'd avoid
changing file names, as that will probably get us into other issues down
the road (e.g. overwriting an already existing file of that new name).

In general, snaps are noticeably faster than they used to be, but this
one is particularly bad. It takes several seconds to start with an SSD
and there is no launch feedback. It's still slow even after first
launch. Native and flatpak versions perform much better on the same

NM can load keyfiles without any suffix, AFAIR. With my proposed patch
it would migrate any keyfiles that are actually loaded by NM, skipping
the other. We should not try to make it load (re-activate) old keyfiles,
which NM isn't loading anymore itself, by renaming them.
