Although I might be assuming too much because if the bug happened 2
seconds before the log in comment #26 then there's nothing about it
being logged. That's normal for freezes. In that case we need to enable
full debug mode in /etc/environment:

Without my workaround, I didn't even get that far, but it hanged before
the "Cleaning up" phase. I could reboot manually, though.
