Thanks but it's not obvious to me where the hang of a few minutes is in
that log. Can you say the exact time it occurred? Or can you reproduce
the hang again and tell us what time it occurred?

that was it, I found the culprit, it was this extension:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1025/hide-overview-when-click-
overview/. Disabling it fixed my issues. Thank you, you can close this.

I had no problem like this until Ubuntu 21.04 (which I upgraded to lately).
Clicking on mailto-links in Firefox result in the error message by Thunderbird
"TB already running..."
I have FF 88.0 and TB 78.8.1 - system is 64 Bit.
I recently had a problem (since the aforementioned upgrade) with Firef
This issue does not affect me on 21.04 with a clean install.
