- By analyzing htop you can see gnome-shell is using 100% CPU after it has
crashed

I just upgraded from Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04.
When I boot my system I have to wait at least 10 to 15 seconds for the
application icons to load on dock. Meanwhile everything else seems to be
working properly. I didn't experience this behavior in Ubuntu 18.04.

I have two monitors, with the secondary one rotated in a portrait
orientation. Using the nvidia 440 drivers, the orientation is not
applied when configuring in gnome settings (the displays go blank for a
second, and then reappear in landscape orientation).

Confirmed, after adding the nvidia-drm.modeset=1 to the GRUB file it
worked. I tested 3 cases:
1. Reboot without Log out afterwards.
2. Reboot with a Log out afterwards and then try to log in again.
3. Reboot with a Log out afterwards, try to log in again and then reboot.
It worked for all cases.

works like a charm (normal apt, .deb files or PPAs) with something
that's still obviously not ready to be thrown at people's machines
forcing them to use snaps instead of regular .deb. you don't even leave

Just noticed a typo in my previous comment, so to make it clear,
deleting ~/.config/pulse did not work on my system.
It worked fine in 19.10, after upgrade playback is sent to computer
speakers even when a Bluetooth headset is connected and selected as
output device. AUX works fine, so does Blueto

I applied the same workaround and it works.
I've to tell you that upgrade is not the true reason.
It happened to my UbuntuStudio 16.04 with Thunderbird 68.7.0 (64bit) and I've
not upgrade anything.
Yesterday night Thunderbird worked as always ... this morning had the issue.

I fail to see how this is an issue specific to docker. If you wanted to
write a snap that depends on chromium (e.g., some webdriver tooling),
can you install snaps inside of a snap? I think the idea of installing
snaps through apt is going to cause unexpected issues which aren't
really resolvable i
