The problem seems to get worse, as in 90% of the cases the above mentioned
sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration

Hi Sebastien. While rebooting to have a clear journalctl output to send
you, the updates work and I found why.
Battery has to be 100% charged. While still on power, reboot the
machine, do the upgrade, reboot and finally the BIOS gets upgraded.
After last reboot you can remove the power supply.

I got a helpfull hint. I had to install Gnome tweak and Activate
Extension for Gnome shell.
I would propose to add a prompt. If I try to activate a gnome-shell
extension but the use of the extension is deactivated request to

According to the dmesg.txt, the analog audio works well, I don't know
why you saw dummy output from UI. (if everything looks good in the
/proc/asound/*, then there must be sth wrong in the pulseaudio).

It seems this is a side effect of a mistake made in the release and
subsequent withdrawal of update 1:11.1-1ubuntu7.5. So it's not a bug in
the code but is a problem people will encounter with Ubuntu updates...

I can confirm the issue described in Bug #1827791 is existent in Ubuntu
18.04 LTS as well.
When I issue the command "sudo swapoff /swapfile" the issue never shows
up. I always issue that command as the laptop otherwise is barely usable
and I need to use it for work.
