If the cause of the hang cannot easily be determined, we should at least
make sure that the test doesn't hang for 5+ hours, until it times out
(i.e. we need a lower timeout, 5 minutes is probably fine).

And I really don't understand why this has so low priority. I have been
able to trace this problem back to 2012!!!?!
And it is really blocking ordinary users from working with a Ubuntu laptop.
My usecase:

I'm trying to catch that function(s) which leaks the memory, but
unfortunately I am not an expert. Can anyone help me what to do? I
copied /usr/bin/gnome-shell to /usr/bin/gnome-shell.bin and made a
script in /usr/bin/gnome-shell:

1) switched to nvidia;
2) worked for a while with it for a while with 5.3.0-19-generic;
3) got a kernel update to 5.3.0-23-generic;

1) /lib/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia.conf gets created if you switch to
