So, I have been experimenting. I have removed ulimit -v 100...0 out of
the command line because I have unlimited limit by default. What I have

Let's make it clear that it's absolutely most definitely not a bug in
gnome-terminal. Gnome-terminal uses old-fashioned server-side
decorations, that is, the window border is drawn by the window manager.
There is no way gnome-terminal could legally ask it to draw something
else there.

Are your clients using authentication?
Seems you either needs the clients to be configured to use password auth or set

I confirm this issue as well. Using latest build of 17.10 and updated.
It requires me to log off/on to get things working again.
I found multiple duplicate bugs on this issue, and yes...wonder why its
not fixed?
