I have a laptop: ASUS P452L and it has a hotkey (Fn+F9) to disable touchpad
function.
I found when I use the hotkey to disable the touchpat and then I have to press
the hotkey
twice to re-enable it.
This is symptom cannot be found if:
1) using Kubuntu.
2) plug the usb mouse
The unity-settings-daemon(14.04.0+14.04.20140606-0ubuntu2) in kh2.0 now is from
lp:ubuntu/trusty-updates/unity-settings-daemon
that had included the patch at #39. So don't need to merge
lp:~oem-solutions-group/kittyhawk/unity-settings-daemon_Seb.lp1382291 to ppa of

I have restricted the bad behavior to XChat-gnome at this point. At
least that's the most visible program where this issue becomes apparent.
LibreOffice, Firefox, Thunderbird and Nautilus seem to respect the
touch-to-click disabled in the Unity config panel.

I have tested the new binutils package on the test program at the top of
this ticket. I no longer see the "Inconsistency detected..." message,
but I do receive a segfault.
