Just restarted the system and got this error without a crash
"Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at (null)"
and it was caused by palse audio as you can see on the screen shot. The
last couple of times it crashed when I playing a song in a flash player
online. It happened pretty quic

Yes there is a blinking cursor. Page up and page down works. Page up
and page down work as well as space bar to scroll the page. The second
box on the screen so if I try to type into the google search bar. It
looks like I can type into it with a blinking cursor page.

I have this problem on 12.04 with a new Seagate 3TB usb3 external drive
ON A USB3 interface. Will test later on 14.04; waiting for final

Yes I had the same issue after I upgrade to Trusty. I found a workaround
in the following web site: http://wyldeplayground.net/eclipse-kepler-
crashes-without-any-log-entry/
You simply add the following line to the eclipse.ini file.
-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla

I'm using standart Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit installation with Unity desktop
environment (it is by default, isn't it?). I understand that gnome-
settings-daemon is hardly responsible for above mentioned bug, but I
don't know exact name of appropriate package in Unity.

After new upgrade -a -l work, but -d not. Firefox+flashplayer on the jwm.

you have to ask the author, the jack controls only have read access and
no write access

Mixer applet randomly decides to cons
I hit this bug again with a Xubuntu 12.04 to 14.04 upgrade. Seems likely
it is actually caused by the lack of xubuntu-default-settings installed
than nvidia-* packages.
Will get more people look at it.

steps to repro:
1. freshly flashed device
2. navigate to Apps scope
3. select an app from "Available"
4. click "install"
Not sure what more you want me to report. I've followed the guide on
http://voices.canonical.com/david.henningsson/2014/03/07/headset-jacks-
on-newer-laptops/ and I tried setting both options snd-hda-intel model
=dell-headset-multi and options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-dock.
