I start nautilus and it remains open so I can look at my files.

Maybe due to I have installed *scim* along with Ubuntu 12.12. But when i

Got it "almost" working on elementary OS Lune (based on Precise).
Used to modify /etc/default/grub and xorg.conf on my previous installs,
