What kind of logic do
Were you suggesting to use FT_Stream instead? other than that, giving an
empty string as a filename to deal with an on-memory font looks not good
to me at least though.

Same here. After I upgrade my system from Ubuntu 12.10 to 13.04 (64bit)
I get such a message every time I open the Online-Accounts and mark the
Add Account (Konto hinzufügen... in german) entry. Maybe thats the
reason why the ICQ accounts also do not work properly (you get an empty

To reproduce in 12.04. Open a PDF to run Evince. Go to an arbitrary page
with some content displayed. Select a zoom level so that something is
displayed.
Hit CTRL+N. A new window shows but has blank display. The workaround for
now is to adjust zoom. Then PDF page is displayed

libasound2 (which caused uninstall of most of the system, including
ubuntu-desktop and pulseaudio) and reinstalling it, now the headphones

Option 1. In BIOS switch to use only embedded video card (for example
UMA only for Lenovo Ideapad Z580A).
Option 2. In BIOS use Optimus video and blacklist nouveau:

I just have tried it and it's working again. The only thing I did are
the "normal" updates, so I do not know what fixed the problem. Ubuntu
12.10 (64-Bit), Gnome 3.6.0

I reported this back in February...I hope it will be assigned
soonit's a previous obvious bug and i am surprised it wasn't noticed
by the developers from the beginning...and it affects everyone who uses
ubuntunot just those who have left comments here or affirmed that it
affects them also..

@Laney: I just spent some time checking what is changed with those
fontconfig files.
I found that Micro Hei related config listed in 69-language-selector-zh-
tw.conf before raring is merged into 65-ttf-wqy-microhei.conf. Those
binding things listed at the last part of the conf are outdated and
