I also have this problem, removing and re-adding my google account
doesn't fix it. Oleksandr's workaround helped for me.
The problem only appears for me if my Google account is set up.

I think YubiKeys pretend to be a keyboard in order to work. With Bounce
Keys on, parts of the keys can be eliminated. This is especially
problematic for the long key they emit by default which can often
contain repeated characters.

I suppose it would be possible.
But please note that there is already a plan to make "Region & Language"
capable to handle installation of languages, and then replace language-selector
with "Region & Language" in standard Ubuntu.

My workaround for this was to uninstall the screen lock total
uninstall , not just disabled. Big security hole, but the only way I've
been able to work for the past year

farther along, but not quite. This is the error I see now:
