This is still an issue and I can't work around it, because the only options
for action on "critically low" battery power are suspend or hibernate.
My laptop essentially has had it's battery life reduced to 2-3 minutes.

As i also Firefox 4.0(Minefield) installed ... and cause bookmarks management

This effects me.. however it's not just gnome-terminal, but google
chrome and firefox as well.
Basically, ALL window activity seems to be sluggish now.
This is on a Core i7 system, nVidia Quadro GPU, lots of RAM and a fast
RAID array. It ran very snappily under Gnome in Natty!

Me too facing this problem, it does not remember screen brightness
setting and Bluetooth setting.
Usually I dim screen brightness to very low and turn off Bluetooth

After the password for "sarah" is entered, the password box is grayed

I've also seen this happen on a machine with an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240
(proprietary drivers) almost immediately after I upgraded from 11.04 to
11.10 and tried switching users a few times. Installing gdm and using
that instead of lightdm fixed the problem for me.

As I wrote on similar bug 792007 I am always able to release the blocking by
restarting network-manager. Try:
sudo service network-manager restart
Please leave a comment here if you know a permanent workaround to
automatically unmount nfs shares BEFORE the network-manager
disconnects.. It seems
I upgraded from 11.04 to 11.10 and Evolution refused to load after the
upgrade. Luckily, I backed up Evolution data prior to upgrade.
Ubuntu 11.10 has changed the default email client from Evolution to
Thunderbird. Please refer release notes for 11.10 -

I just upgraded to oneric and banshee no longer works. 2-3 seconds after
the first mouse-click the interface completely freezes. If there is a
song playing, it will play to the end but won't progress to the next
one. This was working fine a few minutes before I "upgraded".

This seemed to be a downstream effect of a display error I was having at
start-up.
At start-up I was getting:
none of the selected modes were compatible with the possible modes:

In theory, you might be able to downgrade them using Synaptic and the
"force version" option, but there's a very strong possibility that would
cause everything to stop working altogether.
But we've already got 20 people on this bug... we should really try to
get someone assigned to this if possibl
