Trying to reproduce this bug I noticed it happens only when you use the
dialog interface and click "send file". If you right click in the *users
list window* and pick send file, it works.

either from the users list or in a conversation, clicking "conversation"

The package metacity is already installed, so apt-get won't install it.
I did find one work-around:
ctrl-alt-F1 then ctrl-alt-F7
And you get the cursor on the loging screen, until the next
suspend/resume cycle.
