updates, etc.) and then on other occasions when the computer is just say
running FOLDING-AT-HOME, I want it to go blank after 3 minutes of
inactivity.

I am fairly sure that this bug has been present & reported for about 2
to 3 years now. Seems to me it is about time this was fixed.
Also, IMO, the importance of this needs to be HIGH not medium !!! Can't
even fill out a simple IRS form on-line without getting an error.

being able to properly fill-in information on forms on the IRS website
is NOT related to bugs/problems in either the Evince, Acroread, or full
version of Adobe Acrobat Reader programs but rather a bug/problem in the

It is quite embarrassing to recommend Ubuntu to family, friends &
neighbors and then have them ask you why they can not assign sounds to
various system events like they could in M/S windows and then have to
tell them that you are sorry but you can no longer do that in the latest
versions of Ubuntu.

Just put the screensaver consider idle setting at 1 minute, so then you
can put the display sleep time to as low as 2 minutes.
I don't know why anyone would want it lower than 2 minutes !!!

Am using Hardy 8.04.2.
Why is it that if I go to the IRS website and pull up a form 1040, that
I can not properly fill out that form and print it with the document
viewer that is built into Hardy ?
I know that Adobe Acrobat reader has this capability on a M/S windows

Yes, this is reproducible. I have had it happen on multiple computers
using different versions of Ubuntu.
Go to the following IRS website and do a search/find for a IRS form 1040
(or any other IRS form as far as that is concerned) and then tried to
fill out the name, address, social security info
P. S. - This has problem has developed (it has become broken, since last
year (tax season)). Because last year I could fill out the 1040 form on
the IRS website just fine. But last year the Evince program would not
work properly with the Virginia Department of Taxation website forms, in
that, whe

I will test this with the beta version of Intrepid (that is if I can
recall what all I did to setup VNC).

It can take only something as minor in overall importance as this to put

I have just tested this problem in the BETA version of Hardy.
I appears to me that this is some kind of conflict between the document
viewer that is built into/installed with Ubuntu by default (I think it
is the program called EVINCE) and the Adobe Acrobat Reader program.
Because, I tried printin
I now believe that this problem lays strictly with the "Evince" program.
Because, if I download (as opposed to printing it) the file from the
VDOT website and I subsequently attempt to open it with Adobe Acrobat
Reader version 8, the file is displayed fine, i.e. no missing
characters.

Here is the downloaded version (PDF) of the form 760.
However, please note & understand that this downloadeded version/PDF
does not have the missing characters.
It is only when the file is attempted to be printed from the VDOT site
that the characters are missing.

that HAS been quite a while back.
