The problems with Banshee not playing internet streams (in particular

ironically finding an answer as to why WMA streams wouldn't play in
Banshee.

Notice the new volume control has been reintroduced for Karmic Alpha 2,
and the same problem is there, no way to toggle digital audio, although
you can now do it by installing the Pulseaudio Volume Control, it should
still be there in Sound Preferences out of the box.

Noticed an update to the new volume control, which integrates all of the
options for digital/analogue options to allow digital output to work out
of the box. Unless someone else has a problem, this is fixed for me.

introduced into Jaunty for Gnome. The new volume control has since been
removed from Jaunty and replaced with the old volume control as it was
in Intrepid, which does allow digital audio to be toggled on/off.
