Same bug on my iMac and the temporary fix works. Still, a proper fix
should be made so newbies aren't turned off. These little things give
people the impression that Ubuntu (and Linux in general) is buggy and
unreliable (which is really not the case).

On 10.04 and 10.10 (32 & 64bit) Empathy 2.30.2 can't make a connection to msn
anymore (since today)
Connecting to msn with the same account, server and port with 'amsn' and
'pidgin', there is no problem.

I have same issue, when I open my laptop from suspend or hibernate
