It was fixed for me. I re-installed Ubuntu afresh though. Keeping my
$HOME.

I just did some tests and figured that this does not affect the Wayland
session.
I also tested on a Debian 9 (Stretch) installation, also with Wayland,

The same problem cause guake not working properly.
I set guake to auto hide when lossing focus. Now, whenever I press Ctrl-
Space to switch input method, the guake terminal will be hided. This is
very annoying.
