This happens extremely frequently. The screensaver is set to "Skyrocket"
but I don't think that is the reason. Atleast once a day when I try to
unlock the screen the machine hangs. The mouse I guess works because
sometimes I have seen the cursor and it moves with the mouse. But
nothing on the keybo
The problem doesn't manifest since I changed the screensaver to blank. I
think we should remove buggy screensavers like skyrocket.

I am experiencing the same issue. I am behind a NAT (wifi router) and
have a SIP account with ekiga.net
I can hear audio only on the first call when i try dialing out on Ekiga.
Subsequent calls dont work. I did try this with Twinkle and it worked
perfectly on multiple calls back-to-back.

I found a fix for the issue. On Acer Aspire One A110 netbooks, the
following seems to work:
arecord -vv -f S16_LE -c2 -r8000 -d 5 test.wav; aplay test.wav
But this didn't:
arecord -vv -f S16_LE -c1 -r8000 -d 5 test.wav; aplay test.wav
On further investigation, it seems somehow having the Capture
TYPE YOUR PASSWORD CORRECTLY,WHAT YOU ARE TYRING IS NOT SHOWING!, AND THEN
PRESS ENTER.

I confirm this on amd64 machine with ubuntu 8.10 with latest updates installed.
It is really disappointing to see a bug this critical has not been fixed for
this long a time. My disappointment apart, if somebody an find a work around
for this, it will be greatly useful.
