Keys don't work in Totem or Exaile either. I guess this isn't a
rhythmbox issue.

dbus-monitor --session doesn't list anything at all,when I press the
non-working keys.

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond. My findings where the same as
Firesock and Robert Marshall. Thanks guys for testing.
I've now filed a bug with Gnome as requested.
