Ok. It appears that link in the screenshot was actually left-over from
a previous install/upgrade somewhere along the way. Wouldn't be
surprising I guess as this system has been upgraded from Edgy without a
clean reinstall. If no-one else has seen this, I'm happy for this bug

Hi Sebastien, I entirely forgot to add those details, my apologies.
This is on Intrepid beta, using nautilus 2.24.1-0ubuntu1. This issue
does not affect a guest user or a newly created user. I upgraded from
Hardy to Intrepid, so this appears to be a migration/upgrade specific
issue of sorts.

Bingo. There is a runaway shortcut to the F-Spot Photo Manager in
~/.local/share/applications/f-spot-import.desktop. Removing this fixed
the prompt. I don't know where the .desktop file came from... that is a
mystery, but not one related to this bug report.

Yes, I agree this isn't a bug so much as a "feature change"...
A workaround as recommended upstream is to export the
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS with the sudo command, i.e., sudo -u $USER
DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
In the case that one is running a script that doesn't *have*
The aforementioned workaround needs to have an appropriate XAUTHORITY
environment variable defined.
To sudo without doing this (e.g., from a command line process), try
something like the following:
# assumes the $USER and $HOME directories are defined somehow
DBUS_SESSION=$(grep -v "^#" $HOME/.db

Yes. It does unmount successfully when doing that. After a few wrong
