There should be an option in preferences to specify a preferred startup
size. Asking the end user to dig through configuration editor or
similar programs to edit this is contrary to the goal of ease of use.

Nowhere in the profile editor is there a place to set the default size
of a gnome-terminal window to something other than 80x24. This is
unacceptable for an application bundled with the basic install of
