I would argue that, whether there was a control center option or not,
the guest account logon should be off by default.
It only invites trouble. For me, trouble had the face of my children
while I was at work. =)

so, the issue here seems to be that there are 2 packages that are easily
confused in Software Center.
The first is gnome-control-center, which is the "System Settings"
application that is installed by default, and shows up in the Dash, but
is listed in Software center with the title of "utilities
an add-on note... it looks like both of the currently returned results
are for the package "systemsettings", but only 1 is listed as "KDE
System Settings"

I just tried okular and acroread with a known problematic pdf. Okular
was consistently bad between Lucid and Maverick, with a job size of 24mb
for a certain 75 page pdf. Where as evince on Lucid was 51mb for the
same document. Then evince on Maverick was a nice 13mb. Acroread on
Lucid was 69mb.

I am still able to reproduce this bug in Intrepid with nautilus version
1:2.23.5.1-0ubuntu2. The steps to reproduce the bug that are listed in
the bug description are still valid. One thing I did notice, was that
the background only becomes distorted when nautilus is maximized.

I have upgraded to the latest development version as of 09-13-2008. I
did what I call a dirty upgrade from hardy and seem to be getting the
above error. I will look at the bug listed above and see if it offers
any help.

In Ubuntu Hardy Heron, gnome-panel 1:2.22.2-0ubuntu1.1, when setting the
panel to be transparent, or semi-transparent, it hides windows
underneath it, and just shows the desktop background instead (see
attached screenshot).

You mention in the bug description that you have a screenshot. However,
it appears that you forgot to attach it. Also, could you please explain
why you feel that the version of brasero in Intrepid is not stable.
Reporting the issues that make brasero unstable would be much more
beneficial. That way
We are in User Interface Freeze right now. This means that we would need
to get the approval from the release team (through the form of a freeze
exception) in order to make any changes to the user interface in
brasero. I personally do not see anything wrong with having the empty
space. It is also n
Jessie, those mockup images look very nice. If you really feel that the
user interface should be changed, create a bug report upstream at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/. If you do decide to do that, be sure to add
a bug watch to this bug report so that we can track it.
