Just upgraded to Jaunty and I am afflicted by this bug as well on all my
machines. I will try to compile the fix.
This is quite a nasty bug as it locks the gvfs FTP backend.
I think it should be backported to Jaunty.

I am soo sorry you feel insulted. I was trying to lighten up the dialogue. I
think ubuntu is fantastic and the support is far superior to Microsoft as one
can actually become involved (thus the silly comment). I am fairly new to all

Correction:
The generic 101 US works when it is set on both client and server. I had only
tried edev client and Generic 101 on the server. Edev on the server side breaks
the navigation keys. This is still a problem as I also access these machines
using Japanese keyboards (106 keys).

I basically just open up totem, then run a Youtube search and the bug occurs.
I have tried switching down to nvidia's last driver also turning off compiz.
I cleared the ~/.gstreamer-0.10, everything works until I play my first
youtube video.

I just upgraded to Karmic. There is a new xrand bug that stops gsd
loading and that plugin needs to be disabled; I should report a new bug
maybe. Anyway the keyboard plugin patch appeared to work as when I
enabled the plugin gsd started. However on subsequent restarts gsd
crashes (even with xrand d
btw this is the output I get from gsd with the "fixed" libxklavier
(4.0-0ubuntu4) and keyboard plugin enabled:

I have similar problems with vnc speed and the gnome-settings Daemon
crashing. To stop the message I not only had to disable the keyboard
plug in but the mouse plug in as well. The speed is still sluggish
compared to Gutsy though.
