While Debian freezes Hebrew translation in terminal, Ubuntu keeps
importing them. It is most annoying and should be stopped.

ubuntu 11.10 on a home-made desktop. Update Mgr shows gnome-settings-daemon
and "Available version: 3.2.2-0ubuntu2.1".
Hit Update, see messages flash by, and pop-up box saying operation failed with
details: nstallArchi
I performed the commands Dave suggested, rebooted, ran Update Manager,
and the errors and lingering gnome-settings-daemon update are gone. I
assume problem SOLVED. Ubuntu has an awesome community, with members

A 6 month old pc running 11.04 hangs every time screen saver starts. No
key presses, mouse can wake it, just black screen. I tried disabling
gnome-screensave, but xscreen saver daemon must be started manually. I
forget to run daemon and it hangs after screen saver starts.

* Decreasing text size also causes the crash.
* I created a new user account for testing, and could reproduce the crash
there.
