Thanks for the note. I found this other bug-report here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/574978 which states that you can use "killall gnome-panel" to reload the panels which makes them right again. Since I only saw this bug 2 or 3 times yet, this is a sufficient workaroun
