As above I am also having both panels dissapear and that leaves only a right
click option on the desktop.
If the right click option had a reset button or even a log out button I could
re-boot as it is I have to press the computer reset and re-boot.
I did not have this problem in Ubuntu 6.10.

"gnome-open URL" works correctly and opens the URL in a new tab in
firefox which is my preferred browser. This works fine for http:// URLs
but does not for ftp:// URLs. Using the work-around explained in my
initial report where I replaced "nautilus" with "gnome-open" in
/usr/share/service-discovery
n the directory to see
which other profiles also included common-auth. These profiles also
included common-auth and were the model for the change I'm trying out:
ssh, kscreensaver, login, gdm, kcheckpasswd
I'll report back later on how this works.

I have the same issue with wrong speeds on a DVD Burner. Additionally, I
receive an error message : error while writing to disc, try a lower
speed at the end of the burn process - regardless of what speed the CD
was burned on. Strangely enough, the CD is actually burned properly.

I also get a segfault, but it extends to apt-get
update/upgrade/autoclean/check/autoremove/dist-upgrade. I cannot install
valgrind or the yelp package to run a backtrace as I get:
sudo apt-get install valgrind
Segmentation fault (core dumped).
If there is anything I can do, let me know.

as well. I tested burning CDs and/or DVDs with cdrecord, K3B, and

I am experiencing this too.
After my monitors have lost the display port signal from my machine
(either during suspension or blank screen), changing the nightlight
settings is no longer possible and the last used setting is permanently
engaged. Rebooting fixes the issue, however.
