I just wanted to add that I am experiencing the same issue but with an
external drive that I formatted ext4. There doesn't seem to be any
consistency to when it happens, sometimes after a few gb have copied and
sometimes after only a few mb. Only way out for me seems to be a hard
reboot.

The part about --no-start not working also affects me. I did not check
the other options. I have the Ubuntu rhythmbox 2.96-0ubuntu4.2 package
installed (Ubuntu 12.04 Precise plus updates).
I checked in the source code and the option sets the variable no_start
in the file remote/dbus/rb-client.c.
The bug about --no-start not working is GNOME bug 678021 which has a fix
as of 2012-06-18. This fix also covers the --check-running option not
working.

This is a known issue with VNC and its installer. The problem is there
is a keyboard shortcut set that minimizes the window. If you go to
System/preferences/keyboard shortcuts and disable it, VNC works much
better although I still have lots of problems with it.

available on our machines and gets dropped.

Okay, I'm now running Ubuntu 11.10 and Gcalctool 6.2.0 (on three
different machines) and it still has no visible memory function.

When I plug in an ipod with rhythmbox started, it is rejected with:
rb-removable-media-manager.c:592: Unhandled media
I've tracked this down to a bad interaction with gnomevfs. I added some
debug output to volume_added_cb and mount_added_cb,

I have that in the initial report, but only the section for the ipod -
do you need tho whole thing?
Or did you mean to file a bug against lshal? What should the bug report
say? The output from it looks reasonable to me.

with gnome-shell 3.1.3 package, now things have gotten even worse!
I hear the sound played when I receive a message, but no longer get a
blinking empathy tray icon, and get no shell message notification.
I do see the following in .xsession-errors though:
