Reverting to gnome-system-tools 2.30.0-0ubuntu2 (from Lucid) does make a

I installed Maverick desktop edition in a VM using the ISO image.
After installation, I installed only vnc4server and ssh. I logged in

Indeed, the same bug affects chromium-browser. It's a bit of a bother,
I end up abandoning the launcher for many apps because it will bring me
back to the workspace where the app has another window.
The workaround is to launch a terminal where I already have one, via
"(sleep 2; gnome-terminal)",
dormant and still broken are two different things...

That's fine... but the bug you marked me a duplicate of has been open
since 2006 and Dapper. if Gnome refuses to fix it, then we should, it's
a moderate physical security risk, a super big annoyance

If I try creating a CD by adding files in Brasero then buring directly
to disk (using defaults all the way through) brasero creates coasters
every time.
If I add files, then build an ISO, then burn the ISO instead, Brasero
seems to work fine.

I'm sorry, I realized a couple minutes after posting this, that I had a
syntax error a couple lines earlier in the script, which was confusing
the parser. Once I corrected that syntax error, the parser correctly
ignored the comment.

the power indicator in Natty on my Thinkpad x201 says the battery is
empty, even though it's full.
Basically, when I plug the Thinkpad in, the indicator correctly displays
